How custom embroidery works

Many people new to embroidery have wondered, "How much will it cost?"

Well, sometimes there is a digitizing fee. That is the cost to change your image into a digital format to tell the embroidery maching how to stitch your design. That cost could be as little as $00.00 to as much as $35.00 or more per hour for the actual design work. If you are getting a substantial quantity of work done, such as at least 25 or more of a design stitched out, then the digitizing fee may be waived.

The actual cost of the embroidery work itself is industry standard charges of $1. per thousand stitches. To keep things simple, there is usually a minimal charge of $5. for a single item job up to 5,000 stitches. When you are getting larger quantities made, that price may go down as the initial set up fee can be absorbed into the price of mulitple projects.

Just an example of how we may set up expenses for your project. If you have an item or design that you would like digitized, the cost of digitizing may be, for instance, 1 hour. The number of stitches in the design may be approximately 7, 500 stitches. If you only wanted one item stitched, it would be $35. for the hour of digitizing and an additional $7.50 for the item.

Now, let's say that you wanted 100 of that same item. If we calculated it as we did for one single item, it would cost you $750.00 for the items and we would do the digitizing for free. Also, you could expect a discount for the large quantity.  These discounts would be figured on a case by case process, as all projects are different and sometimes require special treatment for the materials being embroidered.
